Introducing the recipients of the One Manchester Community Fund
We're thrilled to announce that we’ve chosen the grant recipients of our Community Fund.
Last year, we launched our One Manchester Community Fund to support local projects and organisations that make a positive difference for our customers and communities.
We invited groups to apply for grants to fund initiatives and projects that support wellbeing, strengthen connections, and help our neighbourhoods thrive. We’re pleased to have chosen 14 local community groups and organisations to receive grants from between £3,000 and £10,000. The funding will be used to support our customers and enhance community wellbeing.
The projects include weekly support groups focusing on strengthening relationships between fathers and sons from culturally diverse backgrounds, to speech and language development support for children, to therapeutic gardening activities to improve residents' well-being wellbeing.
Take a look at this years grant recipients on our Community Development page.
We chatted to some of the community groups about what the funding means to them and what they plan to achieve with the funding:
"We’re delighted to be able to launch the Hallé in Your Neighbourhood project with our Ancoats Community Choir. The funding will allow us to take singing and its therapeutic benefits out to local spaces where residents can access these opportunities in a familiar and safe environment." Clare Webster, Education and Outreach Manager at Halle Concerts
"This funding is crucial for our Alfurqan Academy youth project in Moss Side, which is dedicated to early intervention and reducing youth violence. It will allow us to continue our vital work in knife crime awareness and provide constructive alternatives that steer young people away from gangs and drugs. The grant supports our ongoing programme of positive activities—from sports and mentoring to life skills workshops—keeping young people safe, connected, and focused on building a brighter future for themselves and for Moss Side. This investment is a powerful vote of confidence in our young people's potential to transform our community." Hassan Hassan, Head of Youth Development, Alfurqan Academy
“Receiving this grant from One Manchester is a significant milestone for Angels of Hope for Women. It strengthens our ability to deliver sustainable, high-quality wellbeing programmes and expands our reach to support more women over a longer period. This funding not only enables vital activities that improve physical and emotional wellbeing, but also reinforces our mission to build resilient women and stronger communities.” Leah Chikamba, Founder & CEO / Project Lead, Angels of Hope for Women
