18 organisations selected to receive funding from the One Manchester Community Fund

We're thrilled to introduce the 18 local organisations selected to receive grants from the One Manchester Community Fund.

Back in October, we opened the second round of the One Manchester Community Fund, inviting local community groups to apply for funding.

The fund is all about supporting projects and initiatives that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers and help our communities to thrive. We’ve now chosen 18 local community groups and organisations to receive grants from £3,000 to £10,000.

We’re proud to have invested a total of just over £119,000 to support our customers and local communities. The chosen projects and initiatives will use the funding to make a real difference locally. Ranging from delivering 160 counselling sessions to help people with their wellbeing and mental health, to providing a programme of support to help local women gain skills and confidence to secure employment, to bringing local people together to do an outdoor growing project the funding will also include a brand new potting shed.

We spoke to some of the successful recipients, to find out more about what the funding means to them and the impact it will have.

Helen Canavan, More Than Food Project Manager, Manchester Foodbank said: "This funding will allow us to continue to provide clients with an emergency food parcel, as well as practical support out of poverty, in a welcoming and friendly environment. We genuinely would not be able to without this support from One Manchester.

Emily Abbott, Co-Founder, Inter-Generational England said: "This funding from One Manchester allows us to create opportunities for stories and voices to be shared and acknowledged, building stronger, more inclusive communities. Through conversation and creativity, we want to empower individuals of all ages to work together toward a more connected and compassionate society.”
