Housing disrepair claims: call for evidence

The Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG) has launched a call for evidence to better understand housing disrepair claims and how customers seek compensation when things go wrong – have your say.

Have your say

The MHCLG wants to hear from customers who have considered, or taken, action through the County Court because of housing disrepair. In particular they are interested in people's experiences of claims management companies.

If you’d like to share your views and experiences, you can take part in the consultation. The deadline for responses is Thursday 12 February. The Government will use your views and feedback to identify any areas they feel they can improve the process.

You can respond in one of two ways:

  • Complete the online survey here.
  • Email your responses to: housing.disrepair.claims@communities.gov.uk

The consultation includes 22 questions for social housing customers. These are a mix of multiple choice questions and free text boxes where you can share your experiences in your own words.

You don’t need to answer every question, and you can pick and choose which ones you want to respond to.
