We're thrilled to be launching a brand-new Youth Panel to ensure our services meet the needs of young people, and we'd love for you to be a part of it. At One Manchester, we believe in giving all our customers a voice, and now we’re offering young people the chance to get involved in shaping how we deliver our services.

What will the Youth Panel involve?

As part of the Youth Panel, you’ll represent the voices of young people and be an advocate for their needs. This will involve:

  • Taking part in discussions, workshops, and consultations to share your thoughts and ideas.
  • Giving feedback, and sharing your insights, whilst you work alongside our Scrutiny Panel
  • Giving your input on policies, programmes, and services that impact young people.
  • Raising awareness of important issues and advocating for positive change.
  • Co-designing initiatives, to help make our services more youth-friendly.
  • Representing youth voices by attending events, participating in consultations, and engaging with our Scrutiny Panel.

Who can join?

We’re looking for young people who are:

  • One Manchester customers.
  • Aged 11-18 (or up to 25 if you have additional needs, and are passionate about making a difference)
  • Ready to commit their time to being on the panel.Passionate about making a difference and are excited to get stuck in.

It’s also great if you have experience or knowledge in areas like housing, education, community, mental health, or climate action, but it’s not required!

Why should I get involved?

Joining the Youth Panel is a fantastic opportunity to bring your fresh ideas and unique per-spective to the table. You’ll benefit from a whole host of opportunities on the panel including:

  • Developing your leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Getting a chance to share your views and create real change.
  • Building your confidence and meeting new people
  • Getting access to career and volunteering opportunities.
