Our youth sessions are delivered every week at different community centres by our Youth Opportunities Coordinator. Their purpose – to create safe and inclusive spaces where young people can discover their talents, celebrate their identity, and feel connected with their communities.

What to expect

Each session is ‘youth-led’, which means your child can get stuck into the workshop organised for that week, explore, and get creative through activities such as craft-making, dancing, and playing. Our sessions encourage young people to use their voice, and we want them to know that it’s not only heard but acted upon.

Our workshops look different every week. We celebrate awareness events like Black History Month, Diwali, Christmas, Bonfire Night, and more. We also look to teach children new skills! Previous sessions have focused on sewing, building, and hair-braiding. Our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) workshops can be particularly interesting and a great opportunity to learn something new.

We look to deliver sessions that have a positive impact on the local community and the people that live in it. Our sessions provide you and your child with the opportunity to get stuck into an activity together.

Do I need to book a place?

There’s no need to book a place – you can just turn up to any of our sessions! However, we’re limited to how many spaces we can offer at each location, so make sure you get there early to avoid missing out.

When do they take place?

Be part of something bigger

Our youth Sessions are part of the Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority (GMYCA) and Bee Heard project. The GMYCA is an inclusive organisation made up of young people aged between 11-18 from different youth programmes across Greater Manchester. It’s aim – to create an inclusive, innovative, and forward-thinking Manchester through youth-led initiatives. Similarly, Bee Heard focuses on giving young people an opportunity to shape and advise on a wide range of mental health services in Greater Manchester.
