At One Manchester, we know the cost of living crisis is affecting everyone and we are doing everything we can to support our customers and communities during these difficult times. We’ve pulled together information about the support and advice available to offer you a helping hand to help you combat the cost of living crisis. 

We’ve broken down the support into a number of key areas of support

Money advice and support

If you are worried about money such as debt, benefits and budgeting our money advisers are specially trained to help you out, offering free one-to-one support.  We have also collated a range of support and advice on our website to help you quickly find the information you are looking for.

Employment and skills support

The One Manchester Employment and Skills Team offer a range of services to support local residents to build their skills and get valuable employment. The team can help with everything from CV support and interview practice through to help finding training and employment.

Community warm spaces

One Manchester Warm Space, Moss Side

We’ve set up a Community Warm Space, where anyone can come along and enjoy free hot drinks and biscuits, play board games and access free Wi-Fi and laptops.

  • When: 10.30 am- 1.30pm every Monday and Wednesday
  • Where: The Workshop, Moss Side, M16 7WD

Come along and enjoy a hot drink and a cosy space during the winter months.

Community Living Room, Hulme

The Aquarius Centre in Hulme is running a Community Living Room every Tuesday afternoon, anyone is welcome to use the warm space and will also receive free hot drinks and a hot meal. Attendees will also be able to enjoy film nights, quizzes, TV and a quiet area to spend their Tuesday afternoon. 

  • When: 4-8pm Tuesdays 
  • Where: Aquarius Centre, 21 Eden Close, Hulme

Just pop along any Tuesday.

Library Warm Hubs

Manchester City Council have also set up warm space’s in all of their library buildings across Manchester, as a warm safe place, for residents to visit for free and stay warm all day in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Apply for funding to purchase essential items

Recently we set up our Thrive Fund, to help our customers financially during the cost of living crisis.

The Fund is available to One Manchester customers to help you purchase the things you need most, such as furniture, kitchen equipment, school uniforms or whatever it is you feel you need.

Manchester Cost of living support

Manchester City Council have set up a dedicated service to help Manchester residents who are struggling with the increases in food and energy bills and are struggling financially due to the cost of living crisis.

You can access support by calling their free cost of living line: 0800 023 2692 The line is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4:30pm

Government funding and support
