“If you are selected to join us, you will play a key role in helping us achieve our ambitions as an organisation, and we want you to act as the voice of all our customers in the way we manage our company in the future.”
Who are we and what’s on our agenda?
We own and manage more than 12,000 properties, but we’re more than just a landlord. People will always be at the heart of what we do.
At the end of 2022 we launched our new Corporate Plan which sets out our new vision and purpose as an organisation. Our plans for 2022-2025 are built around three priorities: People, Place and Prosperity.
People- we are focusing on keeping people safe, listening to our customers and making sure One Manchester is a great place to work. Place- we continue to provide and invest in good quality homes and commit to sustainability. Prosperity- we will reduce inequalities, increase our customers’ wellbeing and ensure we will deliver value for money.
What to expect
The main purpose of the Customer Board member role is to work with the rest of the Board to:
• Set and ensure compliance with the values, vision, mission and strategic objectives of the organisation, to ensure its long-term success. • Ensure the integrity of financial information, reviewing, and approving each year’s budget, business plan, and annual accounts prior to publication. • Establish, oversee, and review the annual framework of delegation and systems of internal control. • Establish and oversee our risk management framework to safeguard our organisation’s assets.
We ask that our Customer Board member attend six Board meetings per year, at least two Strategy Days, and one Annual General Meeting. Members will also be asked from time to time to attend quarterly committee meetings.
