STAIRs Consultation

Tell us your thoughts on our STAIRs webpage so we can ensure transparency and accountability

Help us shape our STAIRs webpage

Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) gives social housing tenants the right to access information about how their homes and services are managed.

Customers can ask for details on how decisions are made and how many is spent, performance reviews, as well as policies and plans relating to services including repairs.

Share your views

We've furnished our STAIRs page with materials, links, and details on our Governance and Decision-Making, Spending, Housing, Services, and Social Housing Management, our Performance, and formal Lists and Registers.

But there's more we can do, and we need your help to do it.

You can find the STAIRs webpage here.

What we learned

Thank you for your feedback on our STAIRS webpage. We had 25 responses from customers and we're using that feedback to make our STAIRs page more transparent and usable.

Some of the key themes that we have completed or are working on:

  • You told us that you didn't know much about STAIRS so we included a link to the government publication website
  • You told us that you wanted us to keep the page simple with links to relevant sections of the website
  • You told us that you didn't think there is enough information about long term improvements to your home such as kitchens and bathrooms so we are working with relevant teams to add this to the website
  • You told us that you didn't know how this would apply to tenants so we have included some new content on the STAIRS page
  • You told us you would like more information about how to buy your house, we will add this
  • You told us you want more information about self funding home improvement and we will add this to the website

We really appreciate your comments and we're working hard to put them into action.
