At One Manchester, it’s not just what we do that is important but the way that we do it. We treat people the right way because that’s what we’re about – whether they work for us or live in one of our communities.
We give our people the time and opportunity to get to know our communities and contribute to making them a better place to live. It’s not just about doing the day job. Offering help and ideas to improve our communities is what makes One Manchester special.
We give people the opportunity to take responsibility, to feel trusted so that they can do a good job, grow and develop
We’re a friendly and supportive team. Proud of our work and excited about the future. That’s why we celebrate what makes One Manchester such a special place to work.
There is a clear and simple statement of the behaviours and values that we expect from everybody who works here and what people we work with can expect from us in return. It’s the way we ACT.
Passionate. Determined. Motivated. We aim high and work hard to develop ourselves and others. We make life better for people in Manchester. We’re resourceful and creative. We face every challenge head on. We embrace change. And we get things done.
Collaborative. United. Engaged. We work closely with partners and each other to deliver practical, imaginative solutions that make a real difference. Together, we build stronger, healthier communities.
Honest. Approachable. Supportive. We care for people and we take responsibility for our actions. We act with integrity. And if we get it wrong, we learn from our mistakes and put it right.
We employ the best people for the roles we have available. Having a diverse workforce with a range of backgrounds, experiences, views and ideas that properly represents our communities makes us an inclusive and effective organisation.
We want everyone to feel valued and confident working at One Manchester. Able to be themselves and know they’re fully supported in everything they do. And when life happens, we support them.

We’re passionate about supporting local charities. Over the last year we’ve helped raise around £300,000 in grants and commissions. We raised 91% of the total ourselves and our suppliers generously contributed almost £30,000!
We invested in 47 charities that do such vital work in our communities, that is fundamental to who we are and how we do things.
We work in partnership with charities that improve our places and drive social investment, such as the Place at Platt Lane in Fallowfield, a local library and community centre that offers training, workshops and activities that help bring the community together. And The Bread and Butter Thing, which provides affordable food packages for our local communities.
We are proud to dedicate so much time and investment to local charities and to be able to see the difference this makes in our great city.
