Our independent living schemes provide over 55s with a place to call home whilst also feeling like part of a community. One of the most important elements is the communal garden, offering a space to be in nature, which is proven to be wonderful for wellbeing.

These gardens require ongoing low-level maintenance and we're looking for enthusiastic gardeners and handy people who:

  • can engage with our customers positively and putting their ideas into action
  • Will get involved in making the gardens a lovely space to spend time in
  • provide small DIY tasks such as painting sheds
  • have an interest in gardening or a willingness to learn

Our one-off events will run throughout the summer, and being part of this worthwhile scheme will:

  • make a real difference to the wellbeing of others
  • give you the chance to meet new people every day
  • help to increase self-confidence and improve self-esteem

If you have a flexible approach in terms of availability and the kinds of  tasks you’d like to be involved in, then we want to hear from you. You’ll often work on your own with limited supervision.

We’re looking for volunteers to be available on any of the dates below from 10am-4pm.
